Former Shellfish Packing station-Decision meeting 22nd Aug 2013 + Photos

Attached is a letter (click here) advising of the meeting at the Council Chamber at the civic suite on Thursday 22nd August 2013 starting at 7.30 where the Development Committee will decide regarding the Application 13/00370/FUL in respect of the Former Shellfish Packing Station.

YOUR HELP IS NEEDED!

It would be good to see as many supporters of the Save South Fambridge campaign who object to this application at the meeting in order to show the weight of opposition and the strength of feeling regarding the issues relating to this site. The meeting starts at 7.30pm so please be there before that.

We will arrange a speaker to represent to village.

For any new visitors to this site as a result of the Echo Story....
Question: Is this a business operation as described in the planning application 13/00370/FUL?  Car refurbishment...akin to a garage... come along to the decision meeting and find out the truth. An application for parking spaces for storage of cars and use of the northern building as part of the B2 use may seem benign but there are serious implications.

This car arrives on site, is stored and then stripped of parts and the remainder is taken away.
Car parts being loaded onto a lorry.
The 44 ton lorry leaves the site outside the permitted hours for commercial vehicle activity on or off the site. It also reversed back up the bridle path as the access was so tight in order to avoid the telegraph pole.  Note the access is shared with Bridle 13 which is access for horses and members of the public visiting the river.
These photos below illustrate how narrow the lane is and not suited to commercial vehicles.

This is car waste after parts have been stripped in a waste skip ready for removal off site.

A car being crushed in the skip with the JCB bucket.

Nobody from the village has witnessed a car leaving the site in on the back of the pick up truck in one piece since the main activity started on this site as the beginning of this year (2013).

We hope you can attend the meeting.
